| Man Terrorizing Financial Firms Targeted Denver
Evidence has been revealed in the search for a man who is terrorizing financial firms, including one in Colorado.Investigators have made a critical link between two bombs and 15 threatening letters. The bombs were mailed to the Janus Capital Group in Denver and another firm in Kansas City. They did not explode. The suspect calls himself "The Bishop."One of the pipe bombs was addressed to an individual in care of "Janus Small Cap," but the person did not work at the Denver office and the package was then forwarded to Chicago.Another bomb with a handwritten address was priority mailed at the same time to Kansas City. "We are hoping that somebody sees that and if they recognize it as somebody's handwriting that they might know, that they pick up the phone and they call us," said Dave Colen, U.S.

(AGA CN): The steelmaker said it has entered takeover negotiations with a potential buyer. The talks were initiated by a prospective buyer, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario-based Algoma said yesterday in a statement. Salzgitter AG, Germany's second-largest steelmaker, may bid C$1.6 billion ($1.4 billion), or C$50 to C$52 a share, for Algoma Steel, the Globe and Mail said today, citing people familiar with the matter, without naming them.
'Equal marriage' is the right thing
The debate over the issues of civil unions and equal marriage has begun in Concord. For the first time, state legislators are confronting the legal, political and religious ramifications of what we consider a fundamental civil rights proposal. The debate in the coming weeks will no doubt be equal parts reasonable and emotional on both sides as proponents and opponents assert their beliefs that equal marriage is a basic civil right or a moral abomination. While we respect the religious concerns of opponents, we believe the state has the obligation and the duty to pass laws that enhance the rights of all citizens. Why should a gay or lesbian who is a citizen in every sense of word and deed be denied the opportunity, the right accorded to heterosexual couples -- to legally share their lives with another? We believe the time has come to realize there is no legal difference.
